Review: Four Letter Word by J. Daniels (Dirty Deeds #1)

Fate. Hate. Love. Lies.

Which four letter word will change their lives forever?

Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words “wrong number” in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend’s heart but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.

Brian Savage is living a life he’s quickly come to hate-until Sydney’s wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past . . .

I’ve been debating whether I should write a review for this book or not since I felt like I had nothing to say aside from “I LOVE IT. GO BUY IT.” But then I thought, well how the heck would y’all know this book is worth picking up if I don’t tell you what I think. So here we are.

My expectations for this book were high. Very high. I blame it on my bookstagram friends, their good taste and fangirling arses. They hyped up this book so much that I didn’t even want to pick it up because I was afraid my expectations would not be reached. In the end I ended up picking it up because I wanted to see what all the hype was about and thank goodness I did. It is one of those books that truly deserve all the hype it gets and more.

This book is so unique. J. Daniels came up with a plot you’ve never read before and characters you’ve never meet before. There are so many little details that made this book feel like a breath of fresh air for me.
The way Sydney and Brian met for the first time via a very awkward and mortifying yet hilarious phone conversation and then continue texting and talking on the phone learning more and more about each other was the thing that got me hooked into the story. I loved that they fell for each other without even knowing what the other looked like and with their words alone—which is the only thing that matters really.
Brian had a humongous secret though. He was scared of meeting Sydney in person because his secret would be out and she wouldn’t like him anymore. And BOY, was I desperate for Sydney and Brian to meet in person. The tension between them killed me and they hadn’t even met each other in person. If things were steamy before they truly met, just imagine how freaking steamy the book got when they finally met. WORTH IT.

Four Letter Word popped my J. Daniels cherry and it only took this book for me to fall in love with her writing. I recommend this book to everyone who loves a lot of romance and steam in their lives. It will keep you up all night, glued to your seat. It is hilarious and swoon worthy and definitely worth reading.
Also, you will not only fall in love with Sydney and Brian while reading this book, you will fall in love with a whole lot of other characters. I’m sure a lot of them will have their own story and that they’ll be just as amazing as this one so y’all better start reading right now!
