Review: Beautiful by Christina Lauren

PSA: This is actually the last book in the Beautiful Bastard series. Can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the entire series because it is one of my favorites and every single book is amazing.

In a nutshell (aka Goodreads description):

After walking in on her boyfriend shagging another girl in their place, Pippa Bay Cox ditches London for the States to go on a drunken road trip with Ruby Miller and some of her Beautiful friends.

Scaling the career ladder is the default way to deal with heartbreak—and to just deal—for Jensen Bergstrom. Absolutely buried by his drive and workload, he rarely takes time for himself. But when his sister Hanna convinces him to join the gang on a two-week wine tour, he has a rare moment of cutting loose. Of course, it’s only once he’s committed that he realizes the strange girl he met briefly on the plane is coming along, too. She might be too much for him…or he might realize his life has become too small and needs her to make it bigger, crazier.

With this circle of friends there’s always something going on: from Chloe and Sara’s unexpected personality swaps to Will’s new domestic side to Bennett’s text message barrage and George’s own happily-ever-after. In short, their adventures in love, friendship, and hilarity are nothing short of Beautiful.

My review (aka Diana’s review):

I’m sad. So sad because this book is amazing and I love it wholeheartedly and it is the last one of my favorite series and my heart is crying. Can you hear it crying?! It is sobbing!

I’m also happy because this was the best way to end this series. The perfect finale. I’m actually giving Christina Lauren a standing ovation right now.

I fell in love with Jensen right away. I know that I’ve said that I don’t really like instalove but I instaloved him. He’s just so dreamy.

He works 24/7, a complete workaholic. But he wasn’t always like that. He’s now just trying to fill his loneliness with work. Jensen got married to the girl who had been his girlfriend for nine years and got his heart broken when his wife unexpectedly decided to divorce him after just a few months of marriage. He doesn’t think he’ll be able to let anyone get too close to his heart again.

Pippa is someone I aspire to be. She’s the complete opposite of Jensen.

She’s the loud to his quiet. She’s the unexpected to his perfectly planned routine. She wears purple and black thighs while he irons pretty much every single piece of clothing he wears.

Pippa doesn’t give a crap what people think about her and she’s pee-your-pants hilarious.

They meet for the first time while boarding a plane to Boston. Jensen is going back home and Pippa is going away. Away from her cheating ex boyfriend. Pippa may or may not have drunk way to much alcohol and chattered Jensen’s ear off.

The second time they meet I was on the floor belly laughing. I’m not saying how they meet for the second time because I don’t want to ruin it for you. I want you to belly laugh too.

After that, Jensen was convinced to join their two week trip and let’s just say some of it he had to pretend Pippa and him were newlyweds and the rest of the trip Pippa was his “holiday girl”. Or so they think.

This is the perfect New Adult book y’all. Just the right amount of funny, angst, romance and hotness. I’m regretting having read this book so fast but I honestly couldn’t put it down.

Oh, how I wish I could erase my memory of reading this book just so it would feel like reading it for the first time again. This is one of those books I’m going to read multiple times a year for the rest of my existence until I know every single word and comma and period by heart. I’m telling ya.

If you love romance books or love New Adult books or heck, even if you’ve never ever in your life read a romance book then I recommend you read this book. You’ll laugh until you pee your pants, your heart will want to burst out of your chest and you’ll enjoy every second of it.
