“If I could right now I would High Five Heidi McLaughlin. What a great gift she gave us fans. This book was so amazing.”
“Forever Our Boys by Heidi McLaughlin is the next great installment in the Beaumont Series.”
“It’s good to be back in Beaumont.”
“Damn… It’s so bloody good to be back with the Beaumont gang!!!”
Come back to Beaumont… sort of! Join Josie, Katelyn, and Jenna when they embark on a vacation, away from the glitz and glam that their lives have become.
With Katelyn and Jenna living in California, and Josie in Beaumont, the daily coffee at Whimsicality has long been forgotten, while motherhood and being wives to Harrison, Jimmy, and Liam have taken over, the best friends aren’t able to see each other as often as they like. After their husbands all but push them out the door, they meet up for a week of sun, relaxation, and reminiscing.
PSA: This is a Beaumont Series novella. Can’t be read as a stand-alone because you wouldn’t understand a thing. I suggest you start reading the series slowly but surely because you DON’T want to miss these lovely stories and their characters. I’ll put the reading order at the end of my review.
Oh, heck. I hate novellas. Well, I have mixed feelings about them (when don’t I have missed feelings?!). I don’t know if I hate them because they’re short or… love them because they’re short. I love that I get to read a bit more about my favorite characters yet hate that I only get a teeny tiny glimpse at their current lives.
That wasn’t the case at all with this book. All of that flew out the window while reading Forever Our Boys. I missed the characters so much that I would have taken anything Heidi would have thrown at me. But I got lucky, I got more than I expected.
Forever Our Boys is narrated by all of the lovely main female characters we meet throughout the Beaumont Series; Josie, Katelyn and Jenna. They take a very well deserved holiday in the Bahamas, away from their husbands, kids and responsibilities. They rest, gossip and take massages until they get a call that there’s been an accident. They have to go back home and leave their vacation incomplete. And… we are left hanging. Sigh.
I love the beginning of the book and the ending too.
All of the swoon-worthy male characters in the Beaumont Series make a quick appearance before their wives leave for their vacation and I couldn’t be happier that we even get a tiny moment with them.
The ending I don’t love because of what happened, it actually surprised the breath out of me and I was left in complete shook. But I love it because of what it means, that we get more about those characters in a future book. I can’t wait!
So here’s a recommendation for everyone: start reading the Beaumont Series now or as soon as you can. Make time for it! I know sometimes reading a series this long might seem crazy or you might get lazy but once you start it, I guarantee you won’t be able to stop. You’ll love every couple!
