Review: The Wright Secret by K.A. Linde

A new brother’s-best-friend stand alone romance by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I was just his best friend’s little sister.

But he was always more than that to me.

After twelve years of pining over Patrick’s easy smile, baby blues, and captivating charm, I decide to take matters into my own hands—and completely blow my chance.

Who knew a self-proclaimed manwhore would decide to be a gentleman the first time I’m naked in his bed? Definitely, not me. But when I land there again, neither of us has any intention of stopping.

There’s only one problem: nobody can know. Especially not my three older brothers. If they found out, all hell would break loose.

So I’m willing to keep our secret. Because I want him Wright here, right now.

Why is it that I always forget to keep my expectations at a reasonable level? I should know better by now but unfortunately, I went into this book with somewhat high expectations. I was praying and hoping this book was going to be a “brother’s-best-friend” romance with a fresh twist to it and I got… something I’ve already read a million and one times. It is your classic, cliché-ish “I’m in love with my brother’s best friend but he only looks at me as his little sister” romance. There is nothing wrong with that. I love reading classic, cliché-ish romances like that all the time but given that I was expecting something more original, I didn’t end up loving this one as much as I hoped. It was just a nice read.

Morgan Wright has the world at her feet. Kind of. She just stepped up as CEO of Wright Constructions, she’s sassy, smart, fun, beautiful and has a new kick-ass job she worked hard for. The only thing missing is Patrick. And then she decides to take matters into her own hands annnnnd Patrick doesn’t want her. Not because he doesn’t actually want her though, there is just too much at risk. That’s why when they finally decide to start a relationship they keep it on the down low. Morgan’s older brothers (aka Patrick’s friends) would lose their minds. And Patrick can’t do that to them, they’re pretty much his family. So they keep everything a secret for as long as they can anyway.

If you are a hopeless romantic then I suggest you add this one to your TBR. It is a nice read for when you need something to take a little break from real life. It is perfectly paced and beautifully written. It will make your heart skip a beat from the romance and go a little crazy with the push and pull between Morgan and Patrick. Go give it a try!
