Review: Bad for You by J. Daniels

“If you’re a fan of Kristen Ashley, then you will love this book.” -Aestas Book Blog on Four Letter Word

He didn’t want to be bad. He just didn’t have a choice…

Shayla Perkins isn’t the kind of girl who makes the same mistake twice, especially when it comes to Sean “Stitch” Molina. So when he gives her the world’s biggest rejection, that’s it–she’s done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer. Of course, it still doesn’t mean he’s interested in her. Or does it?

Sean has done things in life. Bad things. And he’s paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. And no one deserves more good than Shay. Beautiful on the inside and out, Shay is the kind of woman who should be cared for and protected–especially from a man like Sean. He’s tried to keep his feelings for her in check, but a single, reckless impulse pulls them closer than ever before.

Soon the two are sharing their biggest dreams and satisfying their deepest desires. But what will happen if the only way to truly give each other what they want most…is to let each other go?

“The perfect mix of funny, hot and heartwarming. I enjoyed it immensely!” –Mia Sheridan, New York Times bestselling author, on Four Letter Word

PSA: This is book three in the Dirty Deeds series by J. Daniels. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the previous two books (Four Letter Word & Hit the Spot) because they are ah-mazing! And you are going to fall in love with all of the lovely characters in this series.

Bad for You was everything I expected and more. I’ve only read two books by J. Daniels and it took me only one book to know everything she writes is swoon-worthy, emotional, steamy and impossible to put down. But this book was something else. It was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me. Aside from being absolutely romantic and burning hot, it was fun, heartfelt and emotional—I’m talking the kind of emotional that makes you sob in the prologue and then sob when shit hits the fan and maybe shed a couple of tears in between. I can already tell Bad for You will be one of my favorite books of the year because how the heck can anyone top this? No one can!

Are you a fan of bad boys that actually have big beautiful hearts, don’t have single bad bone in their body and happen to have two beautiful daughters whom they’d do anything for? If the answer is HECK YES then you are going to fall in love with Sean.
Sean—aka Stitch—is beautiful and imperfect (and totally perfect at the same time!). He has a messy past. He won the lottery of bad moms and his father was never in the picture. Pretty much all his life he’s taken care of himself and growing up the only way he knew how to get the things he needed was stealing. He didn’t do it just for the sake of it, he did it out of necessity which is not an excuse but it’s all he ever knew. Then he got caught and he had to leave his two little girls and girlfriend behind. Now is his chance to be better; a better man and a better father.
Shayla is sunshine, butterflies and everything cute and bubbly in this world. She works at Whitecaps where she is a waitress and Sean is a cook. To say she has a crush on Sean would be a huge understatement. She gets heart eyes every single time he steps into a room. But he rejected her in the past and the friendship they were building crumbled a little since then. She shouldn’t be worrying over Sean when she’s about to start her own business but… did you read that part about her getting heart eyes for Sean?

Oh dear. I finished reading this book back in December and I already feel like I need a re-read. I miss Sean and Shayla so much. They are one of the cutest couples I’ve ever read. You can feel their connection deep in your heart and their love story is so pure and beautiful it is impossible to forget.  They are now my favorite couple out of the entire Dirty Deeds series and I LOVE the previous two couples. That’s a whole lot of love y’all.

This review is not even making Bad for You justice so that’s a sign you absolutely need to read it as soon as you can. It is one of the most swoon-worthy books I’ve read in a while and I want y’all to experience that swept-me-off-my-feet feeling. If you let it, it might even become your new favorite book!
